Loriann Chee

We jusgt had a tragic accident on the Mescalero Reservation. A Little girl, Loriann Chee, who is six years old was riding in the back of her father's truck and was bumpbed off and ran over. She died instantly. She was the niece of our good friends Murray and Teresa Naiche. They called us a clergy to go meet with the family representing her church. I have never seen anything so devastating. The whole reservation was extremely supportive. They not only came to the prayer meeting on Friday, but the funeral as well. They filled the whole community center. Many prayers were offered in behalf of Loriann and her family incluidng some Apache Chants from the Elders on the reservation. It was very touching. The Apache indians are not in a hurry and they spent hours sitting and standing around the family in support. They formed long lines to pay their respect and no one was in a hurry. I was very impressed. I have posted a picture of this little girl. She is beautiful and her family will certainly miss her. The Naiche family are really taking it hard too. She used to play with their kids. The clergy was from the Christian Faith ministery and a real live evangelist came and had people come up and give their life to Jesus. We were recognized as the Elders from the Mormon Church there. That made us feel really good.
