Girls Camp at Fort Lonetree

We had the opportunity to visit the girls camp at Fort Lonetree with one of our Mescalero girls. We actually had two signed up but one backed out. This is the first time anyone from Mescalero has ever attended and it is a little scarry. Because they closed the forrest, they had to divide and attend camps in different spots in the stake. Our branch was assinged to go with Roswell 2nd ward. They chose Fort Lonetree, which is a privately owned camp for youth. It was great! It would be a wonderful place for a reunion. They have confidence building activities and they are really challenging. They have rock climbing, large swings that lift you up 30-40 feet into the air and then let you go, plank jumping, a water slide, horse back riding, hiking, testimony meetings, wonderful meals and a lot of fun and getting to know you activities. We enjoyed our stay and it was for only 3 hours. Cyan Fossum went and made a lot of friends. These activitiesw are so good for the youth. The drive was spectacular and they treated us like royalty. The youth of the church are so wonderful!
